  Tired feet,

  Trick or treat!

  Oranges, apples

  Nuts galore,

  Can’t we skip the

  Health food store?

  Too soon?!?

  Put my costume

  On in June,

  And no, that’s nowhere

  Near too soon!

  Hands out treats,

  Gives the other

  Ghouls new sheets!

  Brains are what

  Undead adore,

  Which is why my

  Brother, they ignore!

  Has finally come,

  For free candy –

  Just to lie on

  For childish things!

  Candy aisles

  Into treat bags

  They’ll be going!

  Bats in the belfry,

  Skeletons clatter,

  I don’t care that

  Mom’s not handy.

  Mothers sewing

  At full speed,

  Designed to scare!
